Our AGM will be held September 21, 2011 at 6:30 p.m., in the Rigby Room at St. Hilda’s College, part of Trinity College at the University of Toronto. St. Hilda’s College is located at 44 Devonshire Place (between Bloor Street and Hoskin Avenue). The cost of the event (including all food and drinks) will be $25.
At the AGM, members will be asked to elect the Board of Directors for 2011-2012. The members will also be asked to approve a new proposed by-law. Currently, the LGAC's permitted charitable activities include: alumni activities, scholarships and capital projects at Goodenough College. Since the College now requests donations for the College's programs and activities and bursaries for current College members, the LGAC needs to amend its and its Letters Patent to permit donations to be forwarded to the College for these purposes. The amendments the LGAC's Letters Patent will require Government of Canada approval. The by-law to be considered at the AGM will authorize the LGAC to seek the amendments to its Letters Patent.
In addition to the election of the Board and the approval of the proposed by-law, at the AGM we will hear a report from our Scholarship Committee, a report on our finances, and a report on the fundraising project undertaken by the LGAC to celebrate our 60th anniversary and the 80th anniversary of the College. To date, the LGAC has raised over $30,000 which will directly assist the College with the refurbishment of its facilities.
Please join me and other members of the Board of Directors at our AGM to conduct the important business of the LGAC, and to enjoy food, drinks and friendship.
Please RSVP as soon as possible to Brian Cardie at admin@lgac.ca to assist us in determining the number of attendees. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
